Well the day has finally come for me, I'm about to retire and feeling a bit lost, but looking forward to the next chapter. Numerous times over the last 10 years or so, fellow workers have complained about our company and how they don't do anything for long term employees. I counter and say none of us are long term employees, but we are long term union members. So be thankful we are because with this company, many of us would have been fired (as you can agree from some of the recent events of suspensions and firings recently and in the past numbers of years at my plant).

Teamsters Local 264 Members Come To The Aid Of Fellow Residents

(BUFFALO, N.Y.) – Teamsters from across the Buffalo, N.Y., area are taking action to provide relief and much needed services after a powerful storm that dumped seven feet of snow on western New York.

“Our members went above and beyond. We shall recall that TSB...

One day last fall, employees of Iron Mountain, a Boston-based records management company, were subjected to what union organizers like to call a captive audience meeting.

Employers hold these anti-union meetings once they've gotten wind of an organizing campaign in their midst. Whether the meeting is led by in-house managers or outside consultants, the gist is usually the same: Joining a union is totally your call. But it's a really bad idea, and we're disappointed it's come to this.

The spiel at an Iron Mountain facility near Atlanta, where the Teamsters were trying to organize truck drivers...

chicago womens conference.

Members of Teamsters attended the annual International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) Women’s Conference last week.

The goal of this conference is to mobilize and train 1,200 women union members from Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico.

The Canadian delegation was made up of members from several provinces. Together, they sang in unison the Canadian national anthem, a gesture of solidarity that caused intense emotions in a crowded room.

2014 labor day

On the first Monday of every September, our nation honors the contributions and sacrifices of millions of working men and women. Labor Day is about remembering labor’s triumphs and the workers without whom society would not function. The labor movement, and the Teamsters Union in particular, is alive and well and is still forcing change. Labor is behind the movement to raise the minimum wage and shining a spotlight on income inequality. And the...
