"I was there when we brought the Union in. The first-time contract they won for us was unbelievable. It changed the quality of my life. I am now a Shop Steward and enjoy working with my Union and looking after my fellow workers. "
Congratulations to long-serving Local 464 member, Dean Grant, on his performance at the 2014 BC Professional Truck Driving Championships.
Dean, who works at Agrifoods International Cooperative Limited (AICL) as a bulk-milk tanker driver, secured his 3rd title as Grand Champion at the BC Championships. In addition to the title of grand champion, Dean placed 1st in the Straight Truck class and also won the Team Trophy (along with Evan Hirst, Dale Scott, Rob Balan and Jose Lecinana).
Dean, who originally hails from Abbotsford, is a former Shop Steward who has also served on multiple committees over the years and has worked at AICL for nearly 29 years. He currently resides in Duncan, BC.
Next up for Dean will be the Canadian Championships, which are slated for early September in Esterel, Quebec. We wish him the best of luck at the nationals!
